Livin' in the Land Down-unda...

It's been 2 weeks ONLY since sch started. But it sure seems like I've been here a long long time.
On Sun uncle, ah yee, sab, alissa and i had a picnic lunch down at what uncle calls "Cooo-tes-LOR" beach. yesh more summer beach-going :)

OH YES!! I have found *superstars* in my uni!! Hahahha who needs the Oscars?

Last year, at out first chem lecture i turned to lynnette and christine and said,

"eh, don't you think our lecturer looks like Jack Black?"

(Lynn & Christine observe chem lecturer for a bit..even his mannerisms are somewhat like the rock star actor..)

Lynn & Christine: "YA leh! he DOES look a bit like him!"

Haha and that was it - everytime i went for his lecture i couldnt help but see Jack Black teaching us about carbon-carbon double bonds and esters.

THIS year it gets even more interesting. My ecology lecturer looks like House!! That's SO COOL! Only difference is he doesnt lean on a walking stick, he leans on, well, a STICK (as he calls it) - it's those long pointy wooden pointers for lecture slides.

Then the funniest thing is - Amar is taking core concepts in bio this yr which we took last year. So I ask her one day,

"So how are you finding the unit? The lecturer is awesome, he's really good."

Amar: "Oh that's cool. He looks like Tom Cruise."

Me: "WHAT?? hahaha he does not!"

Amar: "Ya he does! He looks like the nerdy version of Tom Cruise."

(by this time, both of us are extremely tickled and talking between bursts of laughter)

Me: "No lah!!"

Amar: "K maybe just because of his hair..."

Me: "Haha maybe..."

So yea. So far there's Jack Black, House, and Tom Cruise. wow. Somemore. Met up with Eu Dee and Sherlyn for brunch and they told me there's a commerce lecturer who looks like... get ready...

BORAT.

Ahahah! yea and apparently the lecturer says so himself...like one day he was walking around freo and someone called him Borat. We should so take pictures with our lecturers and tell people we've met these stars eh??

This week we had old and new friends in zoology lab...Spongebob, and his favourite past-time: Jellyfish.

Ah then on friday we did fieldwork at some TICK-INFESTED Banksia woodland. They kept warning us about the ticks every lecture to the point that everyone was super paranoid about getting ticks with every step we took through the woodland. Measuring tree trunks, making observations and counting plants while all the time thinking "tick! tick! tick! ticktickticktick..." sure isn't easy...

Then, our bus got stuck in the deep sand TWICE...They called and hooked the bus up to a truck, which in turn was hooked up to a mini fire-engine.

So Strong men --> PUSH Bus---Truck---Mini Fire-engine-->PULL :D

And then we had to travel the whole dirt road back to the main paved highway IN REVERSE. hahah it was so long that we kinda forgot we were going backwards (like it became "normal"), then suddenly I realise it again and turn to Shino, "Do you realise we still haven't moved forward? we're still in reverse!" We both laugh out loud. hahaha... but thank God i came back unharmed and TICK-FREE! *phew*
