Hello Singapore! Perth has moved one hour ahead of you at 12 midnight this morning. So it is 4.55pm here now n it's 3.55pm back home. Yup...that means i had 1 less hour of sleep last night. haha...oh well. We get that hour back next year after summer.

We had another bbq yesterday. Believe it or not i still feel full from it. Haha...but it was a good bbq, no pictures this time tho.

Field trip on thursday was rather not as exciting as I was hoping, could hardly see/hear the guide, save for the occasional audible "roots....stems...nodules...symbiotic" n un-spellable plant scientific names sigh.

Haha guess they didnt quite manage to inspire us much with the fact that our 1-hour bushwalk was around the most biodiverse piece of native bushland in all of Perth (which should have been pretty inspiring in itself eh). Plants still don't ignite as much excitement in me as animals do, but
I still find it pretty amazing how I'm now living in one of the world's 25 biodiversity hotspots.

WA has the largest number of...carnivorous plant species!! yea rem the pitcher plants n venus fly traps n sundews from primary school science? Haha unfortunately, during the fieldtrip everyone was getting super annoyed with the huge amount of flies buzzing around us, landing on our faces. we spent more time waving them off than taking notes...

Field guide: WA has the largest number of carnivorous plant species in the world. We are standing among many of these now.

Jo: Well they don't seem to be doing a very good job! (waves flies away from face)

Pics from the fieldtrip!
