Lo and behold, it means MACDONALD'S! Hoho..ya man, i'm in a NEW, just-as-awesome CELL this semester, becos Kardinya cell multiplied! (praise God!) yep...n it just so happens most of my new cell mates are born in aus, or been here since they were little. So haha the leader sent out an email saying we will hav dinner this week at "Maccas", like... ??? at the risk of sounding just a little stupid i had to ask. N they were like "oh what do u call it". hahah...erm...we just call it Macs. ah...fond memories of serene centre macs in my "younger" days...

OOOH! let's play a game! Other words i've come across so far tt are used by the aussies...guess what they mean/what's e usual term we use back in Sg. will update in next post :D

Haha...yup. amazing how one thing can have so many names in different parts of the world. and how so many words can have so many different meanings in other parts of the world too.

How did gay come to mean homosexual anyway?? It means HAPPY!! and then when u thot that was it, there's a 3rd meaning tt i discovered here in aus, after being half amused and half "what??" when i kept hearing my friends/strangers say to each other "That's so gay!", and they didn't mean "That's so homosexual!" haha mum n dad were very amused when i told them about this strange phenomenon. Well give a guess to that 3rd definition.

Oh if u're wondering, Bufo marinus isn't aussie slang. hahaha. It's the scientific name for the CANE TOAD, one pest that's giving australian native wildlife n people a terrible headache. Anyway last thurs we dissected Bufo marinus and it was prob one of the most fun labs i've had so far! woo! :) I was just sad i didn't hav a camera w me to take pictures or i would post them :(

Ooh today it finally rained after 2 wks of not a drop of rain :) Good for the crops and the plants n animals. yea. N spring is in the air! kk so it's still winter, but seriously it's looking more n more like spring everyday...check out the "kangaroo paws" i saw that just sprung up along the pathway:
